Welcome to God's Butterflies!

My very favorite saying in life has always been:
Just when the caterpillar thought her world was over, she became a beautiful butterfly!

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives to learn something bigger and better. When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. We cannot be the beautiful butterflies God wants us to be. It is through Him that are able to fly!

This group is meant to be a place where we can all discuss our struggles and share responses without feeling ashamed, therefore I have it set up to where no one can see you are a part of this group on your profile. Only the members of this group will be able to see this page, read it's contents, and respond to the posts. We have all gone through hardships in our life and are a part of this group because we want to work on forgiveness so we can be the beautiful butterfly God wants us to be. I hope that everyone will feel free to post anything they are having trouble with as we go through our book, but also take time to respond to others so that we can all get as much as we can from the group!

I am so excited to lead everyone on this journey and am praying that God will really bless the group, open our hearts to accept such a difficult topic and enrich our lives!

I AM GOD'S BUTTERFLY!
